Leland Vittert to Take Over NewsNation 9 P.M. Slot

Brian Steinberg Senior TV Editor Leland Vittert, a former Fox News Channel reporter who has become an evening host on Nexstar Media’s NewsNation, will take over the 9 p.m.

hour on that network that is being vacated by current host Dan Abrams. Starting February 10, Vittert’s program, “On Balance,” which airs at 7 p.m. , will move to the 9 o’clock slot. “Elizabeth Vargas Reports,” which previously aired at 5 p.m., will move to 7.

The network also announced that it has reached a new multi-year agreement with Vargas to continue hosting her weeknight program. “We’re extremely happy to be bringing Leland and Elizabeth to our primetime line-up,” said Michael Corn, president of programming and specials at NewsNation, in a statement. “They are extraordinary and experienced journalists who are fearless, smart, and curious.

They have travelled the globe to deliver the news, and they have each developed a loyal and growing audience here at NewsNation.” As part of the moves, “NewsNation Now with Connell McShane” will be extended, and air from 3 p.m.
