Cynthia Littleton Business Editor City National Bank executives JaHan Wang and Abel Montañez will take on oversight of entertaining banking and private wealth management as Kelly Coffey steps down as leader of the financial institution’s Entertainment, Private Banking and Wealth Management arm.
Wang, who is executive VP of Entertainment Banking, Montañez, who is executive VP of Private Banking & Wealth Management, will take on expanded leadership responsibilities for overseeing the teams in those key areas for the bank that is a subsidiary of the Royal Bank of Canada.
Coffey joined City National Bank from JPMorgan in 2019 as CEO. She shifted to a new post as CEO of entertainment banking, private banking and wealth management in 2023 after Howard Hammond was named CEO of City National overall.
Coffey is exiting to pursue new opportunities. “Every day, I have felt honored to lead this team of professionals in serving the needs of our clients and the entertainment industry at large,” she said. “I am proud to have helped grow and develop the next generation of leadership at the bank who have never lost focus on the needs of our clients.
