A law graduate died in a 30ft fall from a road bridge after her car burst into flames, an inquest has heard. Azra Kemal, from London, was travelling home with a friend in the early hours of July 16 when the Ford Focus they were travelling in caught fire, forcing them to get out, the hearing was told.
The pair escaped from the flaming, smoking car and crossed the road to seek help, the inquest heard. But Ms Kemal, 24, fell through a gap between the two sides of the carriageway and sustained fatal injuries.
An inquest into her death was being held at the Shepway Centre in Maidstone, Kent. Ms Kemal's mother sat at the front of the hearing, accompanied by her daughter's godparents.
