Laurence Fox has divided his fans after addressing Blackout Tuesday with a seemingly flippant remark this week that he’s now deleted.
As tens of millions posted a black square to social media – with the point being to raise awareness of Black Lives Matter and take a moment to step back in order to amplify black voices and share resources – some felt it wasn’t the right move to make.
One of them appeared to be Laurence, who shared on Twitter: ‘Instagram seems to be broken.’ Judging on past comments the actor has made on virtue signalling and who he likes to call ‘wokies’, some of his followers felt it was a little distasteful, even if it was meant in a tongue-in-cheek way in a response to screens being black.
