A former Timperley councillor has been selected as the Conservative Group Greater Manchester Mayoral candidate. Laura Evans, former cabinet member and Village ward councillor on Trafford Council, wants to be the first female elected mayor in the UK and was selected by Conservative Party members on Sunday March 1.
Mrs Evans has been married to the current Conservative Group leader in Trafford, Coun Nathan Evans, for 33 years. They have two sons.
