metro.co.ukLady Gaga has applauded the arrests of the police officers involved in George Floyd’s death, while announcing the Black Lives Matter organisations she will be donating to. The Born This Way singer reacted after it was announced former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin’s charge has been upgraded to second degree murder.
He was filmed kneeling on Floyd’s neck for more than eight minutes during an aggressive arrest for a non-violent alleged crime.
Three other officers, Thomas Lane, Tou Thao and J Alexander Kueng, who were filmed restraining Floyd to the floor as he struggled to breathe, have been arrested and now face charges.
