The audience at the Wicked re-opening performance on Broadway was treated to a big surprise! Kristin Chenoweth showed up to introduce the performance on Tuesday night (September 14) at the Gershwin Theatre in New York City.

Wicked, along with three other long-running Broadway musicals, had their first performances in over 18 months last night. The other three musicals that just re-opened are Hamilton, Chicago, and The Lion King. “Hello New York!!!

Okay, so I have to say it… there’s no place like home!” Kristin said while welcoming the crowd to the performance of Wicked.

For those who don’t know, Kristin originated the role of Glinda back in 2003 and she received a Tony nomination for her performance.
