NBA veteran Kevin Durant can expect a slap on the wrist after he was caught on camera telling a fan to "shut the f*** up" during a recent game. The two-time NBA champion was clearly frustrated as the Brooklyn Nets saw their four-win streak come to an end following a 113-111 defeat at home to the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday.
That left the franchise with a 36-34 record and sat eighth in the Atlantic Division, with the team not yet certain of a play-off place. Those frustrations spilled onto the court when a member of the crowd sat courtside at the Barclays Center addressed "Kevin" and informed him: "You've got to take this game over!" Clearly unimpressed with the tip, Durant wasted no time in firing back at the supporter: "You've got to shut the f*** up and sit down."A fine appeared to be the least of the forward's worries considering he clapped back while one metre away from a referee, who initially looked uncertain of how to handle the situation.
The NBA has guidelines prohibiting the use of profanity against fans, so it would be a surprise if a fine wasn't forthcoming.Durant backed that up when he responded to the footage on Twitter, posting a picture of a woman handing over money with the caption "Damn smh [shaking my head]."It's hardly the first time Durant has taken on the crowd in a direct manner, so it's just as well he's among the NBA's highest earners on a deal that will see him earn north of $40million (£30m) this season.
It was only in December that he was fined $25,000 (£19,000) after an Atlanta Hawks fan told him to "stop crying," with the 6'10" star swiftly replying: "Shut your a** up!"What did you make of Kevin Durant's actions?
