Nirvana‘s ‘In Utero’ has been announced.The band’s final studio album was released on September 23, 1993 and featured hit singles ‘All Apologies’, which famously featured in their MTV Unplugged performance that same year, and ‘Heart Shaped Box’.On October 27, the landmark album will be reissued in several formats including a limited-edition eight LP super deluxe box set, five CD super deluxe box set, one LP + 10 inch edition, two CD deluxe edition, and a digital super deluxe edition.

Hot Hot Heat have announced a 20th anniversary edition of their debut album ‘Make Up The Breakdown’.Released in 2022, the acclaimed first full-length project from the Canadian band was produced by Jack Endino (Nirvana, Soundgarden, Sonic Youth) at Vancouver, BC’s Mushroom Studios. NME hailed ‘Make Up…’ as “joyously bold [and] emotionally rounded” in a glowing review.It added: “It’s a record that shakes all preconceptions from the tree, and should be talked about in hushed tones by self-congratulatory, music aficionados 20 years from now.”Now, Hot Hot Heat have shared news of a remastered and expanded version of the album to mark its two-decade milestone. Members of the iconic grunge bands Nirvana, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam have congregated to form a new group called 3rd Secret, and released their self-titled first album Monday.The musical ensemble includes ex Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic; Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil; and drummer Matt Cameron, who played for both Pearl Jam and Soundgarden.The group also features members Bubba Dupree, a guitarist who was in the punk band Void; singer Jillian Raye, who was in Novoselic's band Giants in the Trees; and singer Jennifer Johnson. Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic, Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil and Pearl Jam/Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron – have formed a new supergroup called 3rd Secret, and, without having announced it beforehand, dropped their debut album yesterday (April 11).A self-titled affair, the 11-track effort sports a broad tonal palette – it leans heavily on classic grunge and alt-rock flavours, but adds diversity with hints of laidback folk and indie-rock, swampy blues and stomping hard-rock. Tracks like ‘Dead Sea’ and ‘Winter Solstice’ make impressive use of twangy, melancholy acoustics, while the use of an accordion on ‘Right Stuff’ adds a unique sense of theatricality. ‘Diamond In The Cold’, on the other hand, is a crunchy, mosh-primed rock anthem, with songs like ‘I Choose Me’ and ‘Lies Fade Away’ embracing the epochal ‘90s grunge sound that 3rd Secret’s members built their legacies on.Have a listen to the full album below:Alongside Novoselic, Thayil and Cameron, 3rd Secret is rounded out by guitarist Jon ‘Bubba’ Dupree (best known for his work in ‘80s hardcore outfit Void, as well as the alt-metal supergroup Hater, which also featured Cameron) and singers Jillian Raye (who Novoselic also plays with as part of Giants In The Trees) and Jennifer Johnson. Recording for the album was split between three sessions, all of which featured involvement from longtime Nirvana and Soundgarden collaborator Jack Endino.
