Members of the iconic grunge bands Nirvana, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam have congregated to form a new group called 3rd Secret, and released their self-titled first album Monday.The musical ensemble includes ex Nirvana bassist Krist Novoselic; Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil; and drummer Matt Cameron, who played for both Pearl Jam and Soundgarden.The group also features members Bubba Dupree, a guitarist who was in the punk band Void; singer Jillian Raye, who was in Novoselic's band Giants in the Trees; and singer Jennifer Johnson.

The group consists of (L-R)Bubba DuPree, Matt Cameron, Krist Novoselic, Jennifer Johnson, Kim Thayil, and Jillian RayeThe 11-track debut album was partially written by Novoselic and Cameron, while Raye penned the lyrics, and Jack Endino, who produced the 1989 Nirvana album Bleach, mixed the recording, Billboard reported.The record, according to the music outlet NME, 'sports a broad tonal palette - it leans heavily on classic grunge and alt-rock flavors, but adds diversity with hints of laidback folk and indie-rock, swampy blues and stomping hard-rock.' The album includes tracks named Dead Sea, Winter Solstice, Right Stuff, Diamond In The Cold, I Choose Me and Lies Fade Away.The group did not publicly announce their formation or album until its release Monday.
In February, Novoselic took to Twitter with a message he subsequently deleted that read: 'I am really busy trying to finish a record.
