KEVIN Clifton has denied he left Strictly Come Dancing to save his relationship with TV presenter Stacey Dooley. The Mirror reported Stacey, 32, wanted him to leave the BBC dance competition to avoid the "Strictly curse" because she did not like the idea he might be paired up with an attractive celebrity.
Kevin, 37, announced this week he would be leaving the BBC dance competition after seven years on the show because he "wanted to leave on a high".
The professional dancer met Stacey on the show when they were paired together in 2018 and would go on to win that series. They went public as a couple after the 2018 Strictly season, but promised they only got together after Stacey ended her relationship with personal trainer, Sam Tucknott.
