The Blues boss had to be restrained several times by the fourth official as he seemingly took offence to something in the wake of a challenge from Mateo Kovacic on Sadio Mane.
The situation reached a head as Lampard was seen shouting at Klopp and his backroom staff with Pep Ljinders involved after the Reds were awarded a free-kick.
And in a cruel twist of fate for the Chelsea boss, the ball ended up in the back of the net as Trent Alexander-Arnold curled a stunning effort beyond Kepa Arrizabalaga.
