Liverpool are facing a transfer battle with West Ham for the signature of Real Betis defender Aissa Mandi. The Reds started monitoring the Algerian earlier this month as the 28-year-old is reportedly not interested in extending his current deal.
He has been at the club for four seasons, making nearly 100 appearances – but Jurgen Klopp wants to bolster his defence this summer.
The German, though, may have competition from West Ham, according to Spanish outlet El Desmarque. David Moyes’ side have “asked about the player” as the east London side look to build on their squad having escaped the relegation battle.And the club have been following Mandi since March this year, which could give them an advantage in their pursuit of the defender.
