Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has been told he must raise the funds for Thiago Alcantara if he wants to sign him this summer. The Bayern Munich midfielder has been linked with a move to Anfield this summer for a fee in the region of £27million.
But the Premier League champions do not have a huge transfer kitty at their disposal after the coronavirus pandemic had a drastic impact on club finances.
Klopp is an admirer of the 29-year-old but needs to strengthen other areas of his squad as a priority before adding another midfielder.
And according to a report from Kicker, the club's owners, Fenway Sports Group, have informed Klopp he needs to offload some of his current crop of stars before he can think about moving for Thiago.
