Jurgen Klopp admitted no other team could "smash us like this" after he watched his Liverpool side fall to a heavy 4-0 defeat at the hands of rivals Man City.
With the Premier League title already in the bag, the Reds travelled to the Etihad for the first of their seven remaining fixtures.
Whilst effectively being almost a dead rubber for Klopp's men, they could still beat City's record points total come the end of the season if they rack up enough victories.
However any efforts to achieve that landmark will have to wait until their next fixture, after City put them to the sword, having earlier given the champions a guard of honour.
