Jose Mourinho was sacked by Tottenham after a “player revolt”, with star man Harry Kane and club captain Hugo Lloris “unhappy”.
The Portuguese boss was shown the door by Daniel Levy as Spurs sit seventh in the Premier League with Chelsea, Liverpool and West Ham ahead of them in the Champions League race.
In a statement announcing the 58-year-old’s departure, the owner said that he had “regret” over the decision. But The Sun have reported that it was an uprising in the dressing that finally pushed Mourinho out the door.
Several players had a meeting with Levy to complain about the manager’s methods, having gone seven of their last 20 league games.
