The annual John Lewis Christmas advert has finally dropped - leaving viewers across the country emotional. The ad’s simple but heartwarming message “give a little love” is played out across several different scenarios - John Lewis even dropped in a subtle - but touching - nod to the tough year it's been.

The ad - which is said to have been inspired by the British public's response to the coronavirus pandemic this year - shows various scenarios in our "new normal" - from social distancing to staying at home.

But the biggest nod the advert gave to the tough year it's been for everyone, is by using a huge Christmas cracker in the ad that manages to keep people 2m apart, all while feeling festive.
