Anne Boleyn actress Jodie Turner-Smith has criticised the royal family for "not protecting and embracing" Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
The 34 year old has been praised for becoming the first Black actress to take on the role of Henry VIII's ill-fated second wife in the new Channel 5 drama Anne Boleyn.
However, the actress has claimed Meghan, 39, was not given support during her time with the royals. When quizzed about her thoughts on the Duchess of Sussex during a Good Morning Britain interview, Jodie said: "There's a lot of resistance to new things that can push that institution forward in a way that represents the world today.
