Everton have confirmed the tragic death of club legend Jimmy Gabriel at the age of 80.The Toffees legend made over 300 appearances for the club and went on to work as a coach at Goodison Park.
Tweeting this afternoon, Everton confirmed the tragic news to fans of the club. "Everyone at Everton Football Club is deeply saddened to hear the news that our former player and coach, Jimmy Gabriel, has passed away," their statement read."Jimmy played 303 games for the Blues, scoring 37 goals, winning the League title in 1963 and the FA Cup in 1966.
RIP Jimmy."Gabriel started his playing career in his native Scotland at Dundee, making 55 appearances for the club. But it was on Merseyside where he really made his name.
