Jim Goodwin still can’t believe that he persuaded Richard Tait to swap European nights for the Simple Digital Arena. The former Motherwell defender played more than 100 games for the Steelmen and could have stayed to sample Europa League football at Fir Park next season.
But he chose to switch to Paisley and Buddies boss Goodwin is delighted to have his experience and professionalism to count on for the upcoming Premiership campaign.
He said: “I didn’t think Tait would leave there, why would he? He had been a great servant to them and had European football to look forward to.“I didn’t have much hope with that one, but when I knew he was available and up for coming I was desperate to get it done in case he changed his mind or Motherwell came.
