Jet2 becomes first major airline to scrap mandatory in-flight face masks

You’ll still need to don a mask when you land if the local laws state you must have a face covering, but you can go without when boarding and in-flight.While the government has changed the rules in the UK most airlines are still insisting that passengers wear a mask in order to fly – and Jet2 still advises flyers to do so, but it will no longer be enforced.A Jet2 spokesman said: “It is no longer a legal requirement to wear a face mask in England and Northern Ireland, including at our airports or on board our aircraft.“However, as per UK Government guidance, we recommend that customers continue to wear a face mask in these spaces, and we remind customers that they will need to wear one when they get to their overseas destination.”The rule change only applies to flights from England and Northern Ireland.
