Labour's Jess Phillips has called for an unnamed Tory MP accused of rape to be suspended from the party. The Shadow Safeguarding Minister said she would not want to send her children to school if one of their teachers was being investigated for allegations of serious sexual assault - and demanded to know Parliament should be any different.
Ms Phillips said MPs dealt with vulnerable people on a daily basis, adding: "The Prime Minister has to answer the question this morning - is he happy for a young woman who might have been raped or abused to go and seek today advice from this person?"
