Former Liverpool goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek has recalled how being dropped from the highest high in his career left him wanting to punch his manager Rafael Benitez in the face.
Back in 2005, Dudek's saves from Andriy Shevchenko in extra-time and then the penalty shootout helped the Reds beat AC Milan in a remarkable Champions League final in Istanbul.
The Polish goalkeeper had seen his status as Liverpool's No.1 fluctuate during that season as he swapped with Chris Kirkland and Scott Carson, but just two months after the final he saw Benitez move to sign Pepe Reina from Villarreal.
Reina would immediately become the Reds' undisputed No.1 stopper, with Dudek making just 12 more appearances for the club over the next two years.
