Jamie Carragher has claimed that "there may never be a better transfer" than the one which saw Jamie Vardy join Leicester City from Fleetwood Town for a fee of around £1m in 2012.
Vardy signed for the then Championship outfit after netting 31 goals in 36 games in the Conference Premier.He has since gone on to help the Foxes win promotion to the Premier League, lift the league title and compete in the Champions League, as well as representing England at Euro 2016 and the 2018 World Cup.
Writing in his column for the Telegraph, Carragher compared the signing of Vardy to other transfers such as Eric Cantona's move to Manchester United, Dennis Bergkamp signing for Arsenal and Liverpool 's capture of Virgil van Dijk.
