Jamie Carragher has agreed with Gary Neville that Jurgen Klopp must make a drastic change to Liverpool ’s defensive tactics.
The Reds have suffered injuries to key players at the back, including Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez. That has led to Klopp being forced to play inexperienced defenders, such as Nat Phillips, or central midfielders Jordan Henderson and Fabinho in his backline.
As a result, Klopp’s side have lost the defensive resilience that helped them to win their first ever Premier League title last season.
Instead, they have conceded 34 goals so far this term, the most of any team in the top half and one more than they conceded in the whole of last season.
