Jamie Carragher is backing a defender to win the PFA Player of the Year for only the second time since the 2004/2005 campaign.Since John Terry lifted the trophy aloft, only Virgil van Dijk has managed to prove himself as the best player across an entire Premier League season.As Manchester City threaten to resume their status as the most dominant team in England, Carragher has backed summer signing Ruben Dias to gain the votes of the Professional Footballers' Association.Dias, 23, joined City from Benfica for an initial £51m, and has gone on to win 13 of his 19 appearances, losing only once while keeping 12 clean sheets."Based on the criteria the award should go to someone who has had the single biggest impact on the destiny of the Premier.
