James McAvoy has donated £10,000 to the Edinburgh Youth Theatre (EYT) to help keep its classes accessible to all during the coronavirus pandemic.What a gent.The EYT had been holding classes for three to 18-year-olds online since the Covid-19 crisis, but came close to cancelling them as its income was ’severely reduced.’This was despite the company’s Pay What You Can Scheme, to ensure the classes were accessible for everyone.However, Glass actor James has now made a ‘substantial donation’ to the scheme and saved the day.For the foreseeable future, the James McAvoy Bursary will now help any potential or current student facing financial hardship to ensure fees are manageable for their family.McAvoy met EYT’s artistic director Shauna Macdonald.
