I think it’s fair to say we are all mugged off. ITV2 has confirmed that this summer’s Love Island will not be going ahead due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a statement the Director of Television at ITV Kevin Lygo said ‘We have tried every which way to make Love Island this summer but logistically it’s just not possible to produce it in a way that safeguards the wellbeing of everyone involved and that for us is the priority’  He went on to explained that the crew would have been travelling to prepare the villa in Mallorca very shortly.

He added ‘clearly that’s now out of the question’. The news comes after it was revealed that 12,000 applications were received over the last six weeks.
