The cottage, which was commissioned by King William IV in 1831, was renovated in honour of the Queen and features two large rooms, French windows and several cosy fireplaces.
The picturesque details including a covered veranda, porte cochère and gingerbread trim, still remain today.Adelaide Cottage managed to charm the monarch, with writings from the time describing the original property as "a romantic habitation under a steep bank," according to The Gardens and Parks of Windsor.It can be found located inside the 4,800-acre Windsor Great Park and within the 650-acre Home Park privately managed by the Crown Estate.Harry and Meghan had fallen in love with the cottage after they went for a viewing and it was believed that they were offered the home to live in, reports The Mail On Sunday.
