Queen Elizabeth's grandchildren made history as they held the first vigil by the grandchildren of a late monarch on Saturday evening (17. 09. 22).

Several members of the Royal Family have hugely important official styles that date back centuries - whether it is the Prince of Wales or the Duchess of Edinburgh. Looking ahead to the future, three of King Charles' grandchildren are expected to carry many different titles in their lifetimes, some of which hold huge historical and political importance.

While both Prince George and Prince Louis would be eligible to hold key royal titles in the future, their sister Princess Charlotte is also in line to hold one which is currently associated with the hardest working member of the Firm. As she will one day be the eldest daughter of the sovereign when Prince William succeeds, Princess Charlotte could be styled as The Princess Royal - the current title of Princess Anne.

Princess Charlotte is often described as the most outgoing of the Royal Family children.

Prince William and Kate Middleton, one that is more prestigious than the title of Duchess. Given that she is their only daughter, she will receive a special title to reflect her status on the line of succession to the throne in the future.

Prince George and Prince Louis are likely to receive dukedoms when they get married, a royal rule means their sister Charlotte will not automatically become a Duchess on hers. Princess Charlotte, whose current full title is Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge, can only become a Duchess if she marries a Duke.
