A shooting in Rockford, Ill., Saturday night left three dead and three more injured, Rockford Police Chief Dan O’Shea said. Police first said there was an active shooter situation at 7:15 p.m.
CT at a bowling alley, Don Carter Lanes. O'Shea said there is one person of interest in custody and there is no longer a threat to the community.
No motive is known and no identities have been released. This has been the most violent year in Rockford's history, as the city of about 150,000 has recorded 35 murders in 2020. .
