For the latest news from in and around Wigan sign up to the MyWigan newsletter here A protester who was at Saturday's 'Kill the Bill' protest in Manchester has spoken out about the moment she was arrested and pushed into the side of a police van for 'saying the f-word'.

Samantha Gibson, 36, was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence after allegedly swearing at police officers following the arrest of her partner - referred to by his first name, Dave.

Dave had been arrested after police mistakenly identified him as a suspect wanted for other matters. During his arrest, a visibly distressed Ms Gibson repeatedly asked officers what was happening and she has admitted using the 'f-word' in the middle of sentences.
