driving away from my old life in a vintage VW camper van – a year stressfully spent trying to buy a house – now I’ve found happiness living in a retro caravan.Having moved the van from Frome’s industrial estate to some land, it now sits under a damson tree, alongside a paddock of goats and sheep.
Two girls I know already live here – T, a new friend I’ve made in Somerset and L, who I’ve known since my teens.The land is owned by a wonderful older woman named Betty.
So T, L and I start a WhatsApp group we call ‘Betty’s Damsons’, joking we are damsons in distress as we lie in bed pinging each other messages.Life on the land is like Trailer Park Boys meets The Good Life, with no boys or crime but more sheep.
