A jealous husband tried to snap his wife's neck after hacking at her with a meat cleaver, the Old Bailey heard. William Clapperton, 58, attempted to break his estranged wife's neck with his bare hands like something you would see in a film, the court heard.
According to prosecutors Clapperton could not stand the thought of another man being in his wife's life. Summing up his case, Mr Markham added: "If he could not have her then nobody else could." The defendant left Napangkawarin Clapperton covered in blood from wounds to her neck, jaw, and eyes on 17 February this year, prosecutors claim.
