Hull has become England's worst coronavirus hotspot after a huge jump in cases, new figures show. The city saw its infection rate soar from 436.5 per 100,000 to 726.8 in just seven days.
Worrying data from Public Health England reveals that 218 of 315 local authority areas have seen rates go up, despite large swathes of the country having been under increased lockdown measures for months.
