A huge emergency response was prompted at a beauty spot in Rochdale after police were called following concerns for the welfare of a man.
Specialist officers were deployed to an area near Hollingworth Lake in Littleborough at around 7.45pm last night (Tuesday 2 May) following the call.
A member of the public had rang the force saying they were concerned for the welfare of a man between Tunshill Lane and Rakewood Road - which runs parallel to the lake. READ MORE: Join the FREE Manchester Evening News WhatsApp community Officers located a man and brought him to safety.
No arrests have been made and he is said to have received support from specialist services. It's not believed the man had entered the water, but was found on some steps nearby.
