Hero policeman knifed in Glasgow stabbing spree discharged from hospital

A hero police officer who tackled a knifeman who stabbed six has been released from hospital. Police Constable David Whyte was reportedly stabbed while tackling the attacker having raced to the scene of the knife rampage at around 1pm last Friday.

The 42-year-old tried to overpower the Sudanese suspect outside the Park Inn Hotel in Glasgow. The attacker - Badreddin Abadlla Adam, 28 - was shot dead by armed officers.

With his condition being described as 'critical but stable' on Saturday, Constable Whyte has now been discharged from hospital.
