Heartbreak of Covid-19 victim's daughters who 'just want their mum'

The mum of an NHS worker who tragically died from Covid-19 a week after giving birth has told of how she is dreading the first Christmas without her.

Becky Regan contracted the virus whilst pregnant and sadly passed away in February 2021 following the birth of her fourth daughter.

Becky, aged 29 from Northumberland, had worked at North Tyneside Hospital since January 2020, Chronicle Live reports. Becky's mother, Tracey Buckland, moved back to the area from London following the tragedy, and now has full custody of Becky's youngest child, Jasmine.

She also helps to care for Becky's other three daughters, aged ten, nine and four.“I promised her I would look after her girls,” said Tracey, 54.“It’s so hard, it’s really hard.
