Some 27 Grenfell families are still homeless nearly three years after the horrific blaze. The households from in and around the doomed block are still in temporary accommodation despite a 2017 pledge by Theresa May.
At the time the then PM said she had: “Fixed a deadline of three weeks for everybody affected to be found a home nearby”. This week Robyn Fairman, a boss at Tory-controlled Kensington and Chelsea council, said it was “not good” the families have no permanent homes.
Among those hit is Mahmod Darabi, 50, who fled his home near the tower on June 14, 2017, the night of the fire which claimed 72 lives.
