Boris Johnson is set to announce that pupils in other parts of the country will no longer be advised against wearing a face covering, in a U-turn on Tuesday.In areas subject to local lockdown restrictions, such as nine boroughs of Greater Manchester, it will be mandatory for students to wear a covering in school corridors where social distancing is difficult.In schools in other parts of England that aren't subject to local lockdown measures - which from tomorrow will include Wigan - head teachers will have the discretion over whether to enforce their own rules.The government won't advise against their use, as done up until now, a senior government source told the Guardian.Boris Johnson had been facing calls to review.
