The giant shark was caught by an OCEARCH research team in the Northwest Atlantic just off Nova Scotia, a province in eastern Canada, on Friday October 2.Chris Fischer, who led the expedition, told McClatchy News the shark was more than 50-years old and weighed an astounding 3,541 pounds.It is the biggest shark the nonprofit has tagged.
