Brits should be banned from visiting beaches after two people died in Cornwall yesterday, lifeboat charity the RNLI says. Chief executive Mark Cowie said the lifting of lockdown restrictions in England had put the charity in an "impossible situation" - forcing them to decide whether to put lifeguards or the public at risk.
In an open letter Mr Cowie said lifeboat crews had their busiest weekend of the year, despite warning that no lifeguards were on patrol.
