The government has told Brits to avoid socialising for a MONTH around Christmas in exchange for a five-day break. Lockdown rules will be lifted UK-wide to let three households form a ‘Christmas bubble’ between December 23-27.

But the small print of guidance reveals people who form a bubble are being asked to avoid socialising for four weeks in return.

Brits are told to “avoid unnecessary social interaction” for two weeks before joining their bubble, and two weeks afterwards.

While the guidance is not a legal restriction, it means many will give up meeting friends in exchange for a festive truce with family.
