According to the Manchester Evening News, Kerry decided to put the wine up for auction on Bid for Wine, where it received 16 bids over four days, before it was sold for £185.
Kerry said: "I don't know anything about wine. "I’m not a wine drinker and I’ve never drunk it as it gives me headaches. But I only paid 50p for a tombola ticket - so to get £185 is amazing to me." Kerry wanted to share her experience with others to prompt them to check their wine racks.
She said: “I’m assuming it’s come from someone like me who’s been gifted this bottle of wine and just thought it could go to the school.
