A man has been found dead at a park in Bury this morning. Police officers were called to the scene of the tragic incident at around 6.15am.
The man's body was discovered in Openshaw Park, off Pimhole Road. Police said the circumstances surrounding his death are not believed to be suspicious and enquiries are ongoing.
Officers closed off all entrances to the park this morning, with emergency services stationed on the roads nearby. St Thomas’s C.E. Primary School, on Pimhole Road, was forced to shut today due to the incident. Parents and children were turned away from the school on the first day of term.
