Two events planned in Manchester over August bank holiday weekend could be cancelled after police and licensing officials raised social distancing concerns.A temporary event notice (TEN) has been submitted to hold the long-running Manchester’s Got Talent community event at a primary school in Moss Side.Meanwhile, a hotel in the city’s Gay Village is hoping to have a bar and stage put up in Canal Street on what would have been Manchester Pride weekend before its cancellation.But both TENs have been recommended for refusal by Manchester council following objections from licensing officers and Greater Manchester Police.One of the organisers felt they had been ‘unfairly treated’ by the authorities after receiving the backing of ward.
