GMB’s Dr Hilary tells students ‘be lonely now and party later’ amid Christmas ban

Good Morning Britain host Ben Shepherd asked Dr Hilary Jones about the Health Secretary Matt Hancock’s claim he may force university students to stay on campus at Christmas.

Students may be banned from going back home as they could potentially bring COVID-19 back to their parents and home towns. Students in Scotland are already being forced to self-isolate after an outbreak at a university.

Dr Hilary said: “If you look at the figures they are quite alarming, large numbers of people have tested positive, hundreds are having to self-isolate. “Even your parents’ house is another household if you are living in digs or student accommodation. “If we are going to get handle on this we must be strict and disciplined.” Ben said he was concerned
