Black Monk of Pontefract into appearing in a photo with him, which has since left him "nearly in tears".Paranormal investigator John-Paul Newlands explored one of the UK's spookiest homes in Yorkshire to contact the phantom.The 40-year-old has since claimed he caught sight of the dreaded Black Monk in the bottom corner of an image of an upstairs bedroom at the property in Pontefract, West Yorkshire.Newlands claims the image shows the Black Monk of Pontefract in a "frightening" silhouette that shows the fabled ghost appearing with a long, hooded robe and its arms raised in front of him.The terrifying spectral sighting was taken through a mirror to "catch the monk out," with Newlands brushing off claims of light reflection, instead boasting his method tricked the Black Monk into being seen.The ghost hunter also claimed he was able to make contact with the monk through his mobile phone.Pontefract is the site of one of the UK's most infamous alleged hauntings, with some calling the East Road haunting of 1966 "the UK's most violent haunting".Newton said: "When I saw the picture, my heart sank.
