Manchester United hero Gary Neville has called for Premier League clubs such as Tottenham and Newcastle to face transfer bans after the decision to furlough staff during the coronavirus crisis.
Some sides have taken the controversial decision to use the government's job retention scheme, which sees staff paid up to 80 per cent of their wage for the next few months.
Tottenham furloughed 550 staff last month, while Newcastle, Bournemouth, Norwich and Sheffield United followed suit with pay cuts.
