Gary Neville believes Liverpool star Georginio Wijnaldum is the “unsung hero” of Jurgen Klopp’s team, as the Premier League champions continue to try and convince the Dutchman to stay.
Wijnaldum is out of contract at the end of the season, and it seems talks over an extension aren’t going well. The central midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, with the La Liga outfit interested in signing him for free this summer.
Despite the constant speculation over his future, Wijnaldum has been a key figure for Liverpool this season, having played 30 times in all competitions already this season.
And Neville praised the Dutchman during Liverpool’s 3-1 win over West Ham, in which Wijnaldum scored the third goal of the game.
